The NAAUSA Board of Directors has approved a dues increase of $.50 a pay a pay period or $13.00 a year for AUSAs with over 5 years of service and $.25 a pay period for AUSA with less than 5 years of service, or $6.50 a year.  New annual dues would be $143.00 and $84.50. 

The last dues increase was in 2003 and since that time postage has increased from $.38 to $.42 for letters, printing costs have increased, and travel costs have risen substantially.  Hotel rooms in DC, which used to be around $150.00 a night are now always over $220.00 a night. 

The proposed increase is a 10% increase.  According to the official website that tracks the changes in the consumer price index (CPI), an item that cost $130.00 in 2003 would cost $149.00 today.
