Discounted Legal and Retirement Planning Services for NAAUSA Members

AUSAs now have two more reasons to join NAAUSA: discounted legal services from the law firm of Shaw, Bransford, Veilleux and Roth and discounts on retirement counseling from Government Retirement & Benefits, Inc (GRB).

Discounted Legal Services

The law firm of Shaw, Bransford, Veilleux and Roth has established a special 800 number for NAAUSA members to call for discounted legal services.  The law firm has agreed to provide any of your members who request it with a half-hour telephone consultation twice during each calendar year.  The consultation does not include document review, and each of the two telephone conversations must relate to a different subject area. The law firm will also provide a ten percent discount on attorney fees when NAAUSA members retain the firm.

Shaw, Bransford, Veilleux and Roth was founded by G. Jerry Shaw, founder and general counsel to the Senior Executives Association.  The firm has worked with EOUSA on OPR cases, adverse actions, removals and EEO issues.

The 800 number provided to NAAUSA to contact the firm is 888-463-8406.  In the Washington DC area, the number to call is 202-822-9335.

Discounted Retirement Counseling

NAAUSA has entered into an agreement with Government Retirement & Benefits, Inc. (GRB) to provide a 10 percent discount to NAAUSA members of a variety of retirement counseling.  GRB has been working with NAAUSA for several years to help draft the NAAUSA retirement legislation and to develop accurate costs of the legislation.

GRB provides retirement counseling for Federal employees who are planning to retire or separate from Government service. GRB can also assist in determining how much an annuity will increase under NAAUSA’s retirement legislation.  Counseling may be performed face-to-face or by telephone.

Counseling services can include estimating retirement, Social Security, and Thrift Savings Plan benefits. Employees who are not sure when they want to retire may find it helpful to have benefit estimates computed for more than one date. During the counseling session, benefit computations are reviewed and related questions are discussed.

NAAUSA members must be identify themselves as members when contacting GRB or they will not get the discount.  The discount does not apply to counseling involving retirement planning for divorce related issues.
