NAAUSA President Steve Cook's PowerPoint on the Problems with the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act

NAAUSA sponsored a briefing on February 9, 2016 for Senate staff on the severe problems associated with the sentencing/corrections legislation under consideration in the Senate. Approximately 75 Senate staff members, press and others attended the event. The FBI Agents Association, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund and the National Narcotics Officers’ Associations’ Coalition joined NAAUSA in sponsoring the briefing to explain why the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act, S. 2123, will make Americans less safe and increase crime.

NAAUSA President, Steve Cook, delivered a PowerPoint presentation on the problems with the Senate legislation. Sen. Jeff Sessions and Sen. Tom Cotton, two of the bill’s strongest critics in the Senate, also delivered remarks. FLEOA President Nate Catura and LELDF President Ron Hosko explained why the tens of thousands of the law enforcement professionals they represent also oppose the bill.
