The National Association of Assistant United States Attorneys (NAAUSA) has named Kaycee E. Nail as Executive Director, effective June 1, 2026.

Nail joined NAAUSA in September 2025 as the Association's Washington Representative through Shaw Bransford & Roth, P.C. In that role, she has represented NAAUSA before Congress, the Department of Justice, White House officials, and national law enforcement stakeholders, helping elevate the Association's voice on issues affecting Assistant United States Attorneys, victims of crime, public safety, and the administration of justice.

"Since joining NAAUSA, Kaycee has quickly earned the trust and confidence of our Board through her energy, creativity, strategic thinking, and dedication to our members," said NAAUSA President Steve Wasserman. "She has elevated NAAUSA's presence in Washington, strengthened our engagement with key stakeholders, and demonstrated an ability to identify opportunities and execute on them. What impressed the Board most was not simply her effectiveness as an advocate, but her broader vision for the organization and her ability to translate that vision into results. We are excited for this next chapter and confident in her leadership."
–  Steven Wasserman, President, NAAUSA

What began as a government affairs engagement quickly evolved into a broader partnership with NAAUSA's leadership. Working closely with the Board of Directors, Nail developed a deep appreciation for the Association's mission and identified opportunities to further expand its impact on behalf of Assistant United States Attorneys. In the process, she demonstrated not only her effectiveness as an advocate, but also extensive experience in association management, governance, strategic planning, communications, fundraising, and organizational leadership—experience that ultimately positioned her to take on the Executive Director role.

Nail succeeds Kelly Reyes, who has served as Executive Director since 2023. NAAUSA extends its sincere gratitude to Reyes for her dedicated service and commitment to the organization over the past three years. Reyes has worked closely with Nail throughout the transition process to ensure continuity for members and the Association's ongoing work.

Nail will continue serving as Director of Government & Public Affairs at Shaw Bransford & Roth, P.C., where she leads the firm's government affairs practice. Through this arrangement, NAAUSA will continue to benefit from the resources, federal-sector expertise, and institutional support of a firm that has represented federal employees, managers, and federal-sector organizations for more than four decades.
